2018 Baby

Happy New Year!

Wow I’m so excited for this year and the fresh start a new year brings. This year I turn 25 and honestly I feel more in tune with myself then I ever have and it feels great.

I know what I want in life and what I want to achieve. The hardships of 2017 have really shaped me into the person I am today and even though at the time I hated life I’m so grateful for all the trials and tribulations I have been through. Literally what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!

This year is really about practicing self love and making decisions for you rather than others. I’m going to try and do something nice for myself at least once a month, nothing extravagant just something I enjoy. Treat Yo Self ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

So I’m really back on my aim to lose weight and I’ve never felt more motivated and dedicated to it. This is the year I really sustain a healthy diet and work out regime, I will blog more about tips and tricks I learn and also my progress!

I feel incredibly lucky to be where I am today, I have a great support system with my family and friends! Especially my friend Nina she is literally the definition of best friend, honestly she’s a star!

Also I have the best job I couldn’t of wished for a better practice to work at!

My goals this year are to learn how to drive, save money so I can get my own place, blog more and just always working on myself to become the best version of me.

Trying to be Fab4 to the Core

So it’s been a whole week since my last blog and I thought I would just check in and let every one know what I’ve been up to!

I started a new job 2 weeks ago and it’s been an adjustment, there’s a lot to learn (which is good) and very challenging!

Im also now I’m taking extra time to focus on myself spiritually, mentally and of course physically.

I’ve become an avid reader of nutrition blogs and I discovered a little gem called ‘mindbodygreen’ which is very informative and helpful when it comes to food, nutrition and a host of other topics.

https://www.mindbodygreen.com/

Mindbodygreen led me to an amazing podcast from American nutriotist Kelly Leveque who talks about stabilising blood sugars and why you should focus on diets but changing your eating habits for a healthier you. I recently bought her book Body Love and so far I’m impressed.

https://www.mindbodygreen.com/articles/kelly-leveque-on-sugar-the-ketogenic-diet-weighing-what-you-want

The book isn’t shoving do’s and don’t’s down your throats rather explaining what types of food does to your body and why it’s better to be informed about what you are eating and why.

I personally like her style of getting her message across and I’m willing to try her way out. She has a thing called the ‘Fab4’ which is fibre, protein, fat & greens. Kelly believes these 4 should make up all your meals so sustain satiety and a level blood sugar, in turn keeping you healthy and able to lose weight if you wanted to.

I definitely am up for changing my nutritional habits in the way Kelly suggests so I can be the healthiest version of myself.

Gym wise I’ve actually wanted to go every day this week but because of work I haven’t been able to. This morning I ran which was nice because I enjoy running but going to the gym I will definitely work on but I’m not going to beat myself up for not going.

I’ve also lost 6kg!!! Which is good and I hope to keep losing weight.

& Cleanse…

So it’s the end of my cleanse and I survived!

Not only have I survived but I’ve also lost 3kg which I’m so happy about as it really has, encourgaged me to continue with my weight loss journey. I can’t say I’ve really missed having meat which is odd because I thought I would be craving chicken all the time but what I really missed was eating cheese.

I’ve aslways loved cheese but now I know the love is true. I really recommend the ‘Juliette 7 Day Detox’ to any one wanting to switch up their diet for a more healthier one.

Here’s the link for the detox, go on give it a go!

I’ve found a new love for fruit and vegetables, I’m also on a mission to keep my changed eating habits and discover more beneficial ones as well.

Exercise is still a work in progress but I have much more motivation for it then I did a few days ago! I have planned to increase my walking on a daily basis and teach myself how to run long distance (I will keep you updated with that).

There is never a right time to change your diet and become more active so you just have to bite the bullet and do it!

Sunday Feelsย

9:49 Sunday morn’ and I’m still sleepy (I’ve been awake since 6:30 not by choice). I feel like the last few days have been mentally productive which is basically where I mentally plan and think about what I want to achieve in the near future with my blog and other possible creative outlets (podcast pending?)

Changing my eating habits has led me to try and have more clarity in life when it comes to relationships and life in general. I have recently been trying to focus on meaningful things in life which I guess could be hard especially for the younger generation when the media only focuses on the superficial, fake lives of instagram ‘celebs’ and fake news (fake news = news stories which have been modified by people who like to control the thoughts and feelings of the public, not presenting the real facts or both sides of a story. So basically propaganda).

This week I would like to focus on maintaining positive vibrations which is just me creating positive mental images in my mind and having a clear positive thought process. This is important because your feelings map out how events happen in your life. Vibrations are released by you into the universe and the universe responds by giving you what you feel and think whether that is positive or negative. I read ‘Raise Your Vibration’ by Kyle Gray and it really helps keep me focused on the positive.

No matter what you believe I think that a spiritual connection is really important to keep a level head, have peace and be greatful for what life gives you. It’s not something you can master in 1 day or even 1 year but it’s a journey that always has you learning and changing for the better.

Here are some links that keep me positive and level headed even when life gets tough;
